Energy Networks Strategy Group (ENSG)

The ENSG Home Page

Welcome to the Electricity Networks Strategy Group (ENSG) web site

The ENSG went through a restructuring in early 2008 and was re-constituted as a new body in July 2008. This site refers mainly to the old ENSG which operated principally between 2005 and 2008. Information for the new, reconstituted ENSG (July 2008 onwards) will be made available in due course, although a summary is available via the left hand link on this page labelled Reconstituted ENSG.

This site disseminates the activities of the Electricity Networks Strategy Group (2005-2008), the United Kingdom Electricity Supply Industry focus group for network issues. The aim of the ENSG is to identify, and co-ordinate work to address the technical, commercial, regulatory and other issues that affect the transition of electricity transmission and distribution networks to a low-carbon future.

The web site is divided into a number of parts, accessed by the links given on the left of this page. The Distribution Working Group (DWG) and the Transmission Working Group (TWG) are the core activities and information about their terms of reference and aims are given on their respective introductory pages accessed through the left hand links shown on this page.
